Cirque du Jour Comes to PEARLS Hawthorne School
The “Big Top” comes to PEARLS Hawthorne School Friday, May 25, 2007 at 1:45 p.m. when 7th grade students present a Circus Show.
Artists in residence from Cirque du Jour Circus Arts spent an intense week with 7th grade students teaching them the skills needed for one, two and three ring circus shows. The payoff comes Friday, May 25 when students put their new knowledge and skills to use in a once in a lifetime performance as they create “Ring One” at the PEARLS Hawthorne School.
The Circus Show features colorful clowns, stilt walking, acrobatic tricks, juggling, spinning plates, rotating double sticks, balancing on a balance board and maneuvering a Chinese yo-yo.
The smell of freshly made popcorn will fill the air in the auditorium, and the joyous sounds of circus music will abound as students, staff and the community enjoys the show.
The workshops presented by Cirque du Jour Circus Arts are sponsored by PEARLS Hawthorne School PTA.
