(July 19, 2012) Amid a standing-room-only audience at the July 18th Yonkers Board of Education Stated Meeting, the trustees voted 6-2 to amend the contract of Yonkers Superintendent of Schools
Bernard P. Pierorazio, extending the contract’s term to 2017.
“I am overwhelmed by the number of community members, families and educators who came to speak on the Superintendent’s behalf,” said Board President Paresh Patel. “The comments from the community reinforced what was shared by several of the trustees and validated the Board’s decision to extend the Superintendent’s contract. We now have guaranteed that his leadership will continue to provide the consistency necessary to ensure a solid foundation for our students and our schools.”
Under the amended contract, Superintendent Pierorazio’s contract now runs through June 30, 2017, with no salary increase.
