Board of Education The Yonkers Board of Education is the official policy making body of the School District. The Trustees are appointed by the Mayor and serve without pay. Their time, energy and expertise are voluntary. Public Participation The public is invited to address the Trustees of the Board of Education on school district policy issues during the Communications from the Community Sessions held at 7:00 p.m. prior to the Stated Meeting. These meetings are usually held on the third Wednesday of the month in the Saunders Trades and Technical High School Auditorium. Persons wishing to address the Board on agenda or non-agenda items should see the Executive Assistant to the Board before 7:00 p.m. Board of Education meetings are televised live on WDMC TV Cablevision Channel 75 and Verizon FiOS Channel 38, and on the District website.
