Paideia Program

• Early literacy and a strong foundation in basic skills
  
• A rigorous liberal arts education allows all students to develop the skills necessary to earn a living, think and act critically as responsible citizens, and continue educating themselves as life-long learners
  
• Students and adults alike are both teachers and learners
  
• Three modes of instruction: Didactic, Coaching, and Socratic Seminar
  
  • Didactic mode is the acquisition of organized knowledge through such means as textbooks, lectures, and videos
    
• Coaching engages students in coached projects that investigate real world problems
  
• Seminar involves reading and studying texts, listening and responding to classmates’ comments, and thinking critically
  
• Emphasis on Humanities, Arts and Sciences

• Community service and philanthropy are part of the school’s culture
  
• Student-produced Shakespearean theater productions
  
• Unique instructional environments are available to students, such as inclusion classes for special needs students
