Smaller Learning Communities

Ninth and Tenth Grade Academies

  • Small groups of students are taught by a team of designated core area teachers using interdisciplinary instruction
  • Rich variety of academically sound support and study skills opportunities
  • Integration of extensive curriculum enrichment opportunities
  • Personalized learning and personalized counseling

Business and Finance Academy

  • Nationally acclaimed Academy of Finance for college bound students interested in the finance professions sponsored by CitiGroup and American Express, paid internships are provided
  • Technology Occupations Center prepares students for employment upon graduation in accounting and business practices; students have the opportunity to earn A+ certification - the industry standard for entry level employment in the field of communication repair, the only high school in Westchester County to offer this certification
  • Business and Manufacturing Center provides instruction in market research, product planning and manufacturing, distribution, pricing, promotion, and robotic operations

Arts Academy

  • Majors in instrumental music, vocal music, stagecraft or visual arts
  • Professional experiences with renowned visiting artists as well as with performing art centers such as the Manhattan Theater Club, Lincoln Center Institute, and S.U.N.Y. Purchase
  • Teaching staff members are all professional performers who also have a strong academic background

Pre-Teaching and Educational Services Academy

  • College-bound students are prepared for post-secondary study which can lead to professional certification in teaching, psychology, social work, counseling and related fields
  • Exploration of traditional and Montessori teaching methods
  • State-of-the-art technology and electronic information systems are used
  • Practical experience through school year and paid summer internships and mentoring
  • Collaborations with local colleges, universities and The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts
  • Affiliation with “Today’s Students, Tomorrow’s Teachers” mentoring students through college to future careers in teaching

United States Marine Corps JROTC
with a national award winning Drill Team

  • No military obligation after high school, but JROTC graduates who wish to continue are eligible for special consideration upon application to a Service Academy, ROTC scholarships to college, advanced placement in college ROTC, and accelerated promotion upon enlistment
