Yonkers Student Artwork on Display

Mayor Spano's African American Advisory Board challenged students to recreate the paintings of Henry Ossawa Tanner, the first African American painter to have his work exhibited at the White House. The contributions to this #BlackHistory Month observance are breathtaking. Enjoy this sampling by clicking on the image below, and by taking in the entire exhibit at the Purchase College Center for Community and Culture, 16 Warburton Avenue in Yonkers, New York, through February 25, 2017.
