Board of Education Accepting Applications for Library Trustee
Rev. Steve Lopez, President of the Yonkers Board of Education, announced that the Board is accepting applications for one (1) position of Trustee of the Yonkers Public Library to serve an unexpired term beginning March 16, 2017 and ending December 31, 2018.
Trustees are responsible, among other duties, for the hiring of a Library Director, preparation and monitoring of the library budget and the development of personnel policies governing terms of employment, salary schedule and employee benefits according to the Taylor Law.
Applicants for the position of Trustee should evidence a strong interest in the library and the community, recognizing the library’s importance as a center of information, community culture, recreation and continuing education. Trustees serve without compensation.
