Hello:

Welcome to Kindergarten 5. My name is L. Watson and I am excited to be your teacher this school year.

It is important that we all are on one accord. That means whatever I am doing in the classroom, you should be doing at home. We are partners for the same cause, which is the success of your child. It is also important to keep an open line of communication and this can be done through ClassDojo. An invitation was sent to your email or primary telephone number. 

Your child will need to learn to read before he/she enters first grade. They also must be able to count to 100, add and subtract one-digit numbers. This means we must work together . It is not going to be easy for those who do not practice every day. Our job is to show them how and give them the resources they need to succeed. Their job is to use  resources and practice every day. They cannot do it without you. You are very vital to the achievement of your child's education. 

Please make sure you have a designated area where your child knows where to go each day to do homework. In that designated area, you should have all the materials needed for school, which should include homework notebooks which should be returned to school daily, pencils, crayons, scissors, and glue.
