Ms. Greenwald joins the 9-member Board of Education, taking part in a full schedule of meetings that begin next week. She is fulfilling the remainder of former Board Vice President Judith Ramos Meier’s five-year term, which runs through May 2023.

Yonkers Public Schools Completes COVID-19 Yellow Zone Testing
On Tuesday, December 1, 2020, Yonkers Public Schools completed testing at 14 schools located in the City of Yonkers designated Yellow Zone. School nurses administered COVID-19 Rapid Ag tests to 841 students and staff. Two individuals tested positive.

At the Board of Education November 18, 2020 Stated meeting, the Trustees unanimously elected Dr. Rosalba Corrado Del Vecchio Vice President of the Board of Education to serve the term through May 2021.

The Overall Mission/Goal at Kahlil Gibran School is for All Students to Value Their Education.
The staff and parents of the Kahlil Gibran Elementary School are committed to establishing a safe, positive environment for learning. Our curricula will reflect a diversity of cultures to enhance the development of each student, which will be accomplished through our Literary Curriculum.
Our expectations for academic excellence are high. Students are taught in a challenging environment that encourages creativity, participation, and involvement. This philosophy is enhanced through positive open lines of communication with each child, parent, teacher and school administrators. Higher order thinking is encouraged to ensure each child's future success.
