Good morning, I hope you all are doing well and keeping active.  Just a reminder, I am asking all students to please use the districts log form to keep track of thier activities and turn them in when they are complete. Three times a week please enter in the log what you are doing.  I have recieved logs from a good number of students, but would like to see how all students are keeping thier bodies active.  I have provided many good resources to keep your body moving at the bottom of this page to help you during this distance learning.  Be safe and keep active!!  Please email me with any questions.

Good morning School Sixteeen students, I hope you are all doing well.  Unfortunately we are not going to be back in school this year but we must keep our bodies moving during distance learning.  I have been in contact with a good number of students and have recieved many exercise logs, please keep your activities log current and up to date and email logs when they are complete.  Please stay safe and active during this difficult time.

 April 26, 2020

Good morning School Sixteen Students,

It is a beautiful day today and hopefully you can get outside to get your body moving!! Today between 12:00 and 1:00 the Blue Angels will be flying over the area in support of our essential workers, always an amzing thing to see!!  Please continue to keep your exercise logs and submit them when they are complete.  Be safe and hopefully we will be back in school together soon!!

Coach Ryan

Good morning, I am writing this note to remind students to please keep a log of all of your Physical Education activities.  The Yonkers Public Schools has adopted a new grading procedure for distance learning, and logs are required.  At least three days a week please record what you are doing to keep your body moving.  Please send your logs when they are complete to my email posted below.  Stay safe and hopefully we will be back in school soon!!

Respectfully,

Coach Ryan

cryan@yonkerspublicschools.org

Hopefully everyone is doing okay, I am thinking of you all, and am really hoping we can get back to school soon!!  Another resource to get our bodies moving is a health and wellness program televised everyday at 11:00 A.M. on public television, WLIW channel 21 on optimum cable if you have access.  This program demonstrates interesting and challenging activities.  Please stay safe!

Respectfully,

Coach Ryan

Good morning I hope you all are doing well and staying active during this extended learning time.  As requested by the district it is important to keep a log of your learning, and this includes physical education.  At least three times a week please record on your log the activities you are doing to keep your body fit.  I have included some online resources to help you in this area and will continue to post and check email if you have any questions.  The following is another list of different activities that can be accomplished at home.  Stay safe and can't wait to get back to school to see all of you.

Respectfully,

Coach Ryan

Good morning hopefully this note finds everybody doing well and in good health!  I am really hoping students are staying active and eating heathy during this trying time.  I am checking email daily so please feel free to contact me, and I will be posting resources periodically to help aid at-home larning.

A great resource from Fuel-Up-To-Play60:

https://www.fueluptoplay60.com/-/media/files/tools-pdfs/2020/FUTP-60-Educator-Home-Use-Resources.ashx

Respectfully,

Coach Ryan

It is very important that our students stay physically active in during this unprecedented time during our school year.  It is recommended that students get at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day.  Going out for a long walk while practicing social distancing is an excellent way to accomplish this.  Stair climbing, at home exercise, and on-line resources are also great ideas to get our bodies moving.

We begin each pysical education lesson with a short strectch and exercise routine which can be accomplished at home. Some examples are;

     -Arm Circles

     -Deep Knee Bends

     -Toe Touches

     -Jumping Jacks

     -Push-Ups

     -Squat Thrusts

     -Sit and Reach

Below are great on-line resources to get students moving.
