    Everything You Need to Know About Nearpod

      To access Nearpod:

      1. Log in to Clever at www.clever.com.
      2. Go to the upper right-hand side and click 'Log In As Student.'
      3. Click 'Log in with LDAP.'
      4. Your username is your 6-digit Student ID @yonkerspublicschools.org. Example: 879045@yonkerspublicschools.org
      5. Your password is your birthdate. It should be entered as MMDDYYYY. Example: 09062009

       

      Nearpod will be used:

      • to watch instructional videos for all subject areas

      • to assist in research for projects

      • to take virtual field trips

       

      Please familiarize yourselves with Nearpod by watching these videos and navigating Nearpod at home.

    If you have a loaner laptop from the district your username is: ypsloaner  the password: Spring2020

    If your logging or accessing at home your username is your student id with @yonkerpublicshools.org , the password is your birthdate: mmddyyyy. Also make sure you are connected to your WIFI connectivity.

     

    Steps to follow under Remote Learning on the bar on the left. You will find the following information on:

    •Using GOOD MANNERS and BEHAVIOR for Remote Learning.

    •Benchmark, Our New Reading Program

    •Clever

    •Microsoft Teams

    •NEARPOD (to be used shortly)

    ATTENDANCE WILL BE TAKEN EVERY MORNING AT OUR 8:35 A.M. WHOLE CLASS MEETING ON THE TEAM CALLED Ms. McCORMACK'S CLASS TEAM (General). PLEASE BE ON TIME!

    Learning and Work Expectations when on Remote Learning

     

    Online Learning Expectations:

    1. Create a quiet space free of distractions to participate in lessons and work independently.                     

    2. Sign into your classes daily at your scheduled times - keep connected. Excessive absences from lessons will impact your grades.

    3 Participate in lessons - ask questions and make observations.

    4. Collaborate with peers using respectful language and behaviors.                                                              

    5. Cameras must be on at all times.

    6. Mics will be off unless you are called on, raise your hand or a special activity/discussion is taking place.

     

    Work Expectations:

    1. Assignments must be handed in at the date/time they are due. If there are unforeseen circumstances, please let me know ahead of time so that I am aware and can work with you.

    2. Homework and classwork is expected to be completed. Homework and classwork will not be graded. However, your grades will be affected if work is incomplete/not done often.

    3. Do not hesistate to conference with me during office hours if you need help with anything.

    4. Do not wait until the last minute to study for tests/quizzes.

    5. Most importantly, do your very best always!

     The Benchmark app can be found on Clever. 
    • To access Benchmark:

      6. Click the Benchmark app then click Benchmark Advance.

    •  To access Clever:

      1. Log in to Clever at www.clever.com.
      2. Go to the upper right-hand side and click 'Log In As Student.'
      3. Click 'Log in with LDAP.'
      4. Your username is your 6-digit Student ID @yonkerspublicschools.org. Example: 879045@yonkerspublicschools.org
      5. Your password is your birthdate. It should be entered as MMDDYYYY. Example: 0906200

       Clever will be needed for students to complete assignments/projects primarily in:

              •Khan Academy - Extra practice and free tutorial services and lessons are available. 

              •PBS Media Kids - several lessons will be used and assigned; including projects. 

       

       

       

       

  • MICROSOFT TEAMS

    Microsoft Teams
     

    Everything You Need to Know About Microsoft Teams

    • To access Microsoft Teams:

      1. Log in to portal.office.com.
      2. Click Sign In.
      3. Your username is your 6-digit Student ID @yonkerspublicschools.org. Example: 879045@yonkerspublicschools.org
      1. Your password is your birthdate. It should be entered as MMDDYYYY. Example: 09062009
      1. This will take you to your Landing Page with all of the Microsoft apps.

          *Note: Outlook is your email. This is where you will receive all emails from your teachers.

      1. Click 'Teams.'

       

      Microsoft Teams will be used:

      •to take attendance

      •to access assignments

      •to take notes during a lesson/working independently

      •to access quizzes/assessments (due dates will be given and everything will be graded and returned in Teams)

       

      *to participate in video conferences/live lessons

       

      Please familiarize yourselves with Teams by watching these videos and navigating Teams at home.
