Please do a little research about the FDNY response on 9/11 and how some of the brave firefighters walked up 110 flights of stairs in the towers with their equipment, which weighed about 90 pounds. You should also look up some information about the first responders who climb 110 flights every year in memory of those who died on that day. Then think about what we have been learning in class about marathon runners and what happens to the body during exercise.
In your own words, discuss how the body responds during exercise, such as walking up several flights of stairs. You may use your packet from class to help you. In your discussion, explain how you think wearing up to 90 pounds of equipment could alter a body's normal response to climbing stairs.
Your essay should be 2-3 paragraphs in length and can be handwritten or typed. Use the words "Antarctica" and "snow" in your essay.
