Week of April 6-April 10

Hello Students and Families,

I hope you are all well and that you are having a great day.  I would like to hear from you, to say hello, and to help you with your work.  My office hours, that is the time that I will be able to help with instructional support, is from 12:00  PM to 3:30 PM each school day. I can also respond to emails and text messages throughout the day.

My contact information is:  clacovara@yonkerspublicschools.org or by phone. Please send me an email if you need my phone number.

I know from talking to Many of you by phone already that you are  trying to complete the classroom work, as well as trying to work on my assignments.  And I am ready to support you to help that happen.  Remember to use the Clever platform to access digital learning. The login is your child's ID @yonkerspublicschools.org and the password is your child's birthday (8 digits).

It would be great if you can have someone take a picture of your work to send to me.

Parents, please use digital learning platforms below to work with you child on math and reading. Also, please read for 15-20 minutes each evening.

Let's have some fun! I'd like to help you have some fun with our work .  This week I am starting a riddle contest and hope you all enjoy.

Here are the rules below, and if you have any questions, please give me a call.

Riddle Contest : Guess the answer to the daily riddle and send a drawing!

Send an email with  your guess of the daily riddle answer and take a photo of  a drawing that you made about the riddle. The answer to the riddle will be given on this site the following school day.

For each drawing you will earn 1 point. For each correct answer , you get another point. So you can earn 1 or 2 points each day.  Remember, you get 1 point for the drawing even if you don't guess the riddle answer.  Points for your guesses  and great drawings will be added up at the end of the week.  If we don't get to see you in person, I will make sure that point prizes will find a way to you!

Important, if you have difficulty in accessing the web site or sending photos, please call me with your answer or send a text!

Here is an example : Riddle of the Day: What do you call a cow that eats your grass?  Answer: A "lawn-mooer"

And a great drawing would be of a cow eating grass.
