Nothing is more important to me than creating a love for reading for you and your family! I grew up with a book under my cover and fell asleep reading every night, and want you and your children to enjoy reading as much as I do. There's something magical about books that takes you away from whatever else is going on in your mind, and lets you just relax and enjoy being in another world. Finding your favorite genres and exploring through books opens up another door for you! Historical fiction, biographies, graphic novels all offer something different.

After college and graduate school where I studied English Literature and Rhetoric, Early Childhood and Elementary Education, Literacy, and Education Administration and Supervision, I worked in publishing (I love to write too) in NYC and then decided to teach. I started off teaching in East Harlem, NYC and was a prek, second, fifth and sixth grade teacher. Loving reading so much, I went for my reading license and became a reading specialist.

You are welcome to come into my reading lab and explore. Find books and novels that you never had a chance to read. Make the time to take your kids to the library and to the local bookstores! They'll love it.

  • I  believe in each and every one of you.  I know you have tremendous potential to change our society for the better. I believe so much is possible with knowledge, and that as you listen and read, so much more opportunity will be available to you. You are absolutely in control of how much you learn. By reading nightly, your fluency and comprehension will grow.

The choices that you will make now will influence your future. Be mindful of them. Be sure to take walks outside in the sunshine hours and enjoy quiet time daily. Be sure to read as much as you possibly can every single day and encourage others by setting the right example.

I promise you that the more you read, the more you'll want to read. So put your tablets and cell phones away, take a break from technology, and just read a book!
