OBJECTIVE
· To develop healthy attitudes and practice how to make healthier and wiser decisions through facts, prevention, refusal skills, conflict resolution, stress management, and decision making.

· Health and Wellness.
· Mental/ Emotional Health.
· Stress Management.
· Legal/ Illegal Drugs.
· Human Growth and Development.
· Disease and Disorders.
· Nutrition.
· Physical Fitness.
REQUIRED SUPPLIES (MUST BE BROUGHT DAILY)
· Pen or Pencil, Pencil Sharpener, Pencil Eraser, Paper.
· Section in a 3 Ring Binder or Notebook and Folder.
GRADING POLICY
· Students’ grades are based on tasks completed in and out of class. Grades are earned for classwork, homework, participation, projects, reports, and Assessments. The Final Exams count as a grade for the quarter as well as the “Exam” grade on the report card.
· It is the student’s responsibility to check Schoology daily for reminders, assignment posts, and emails.
§ 50% Assessments, Reports, Projects, and Participation. Participation grade is based on the Classroom Policies: Superior 100, Fair 75, Problematic 50, Nonexistent 0.
§ 50% Classwork and Homework - √ Full credit, √- Half credit, 0 No credit. Late assignments can be turned in for Half-credit only.
= 100% of your total grade.
ABSENCE / LATE WORK POLICY - Assignments are posted online in Schoology.
§ Each assignment has a due date and is expected to be presented to the teacher on that date.
§ Projects/essays that are late will have 5 points deducted for each school day it is late.
§ Students must make up all missed assignments if/ when absent from class. If a student cannot access the assignments, that student needs to be in contact with other students from their class or needs to contact the teacher for their assignments and notes.
CLASSROOM POLICIES/ EXPECTATIONS
- Raise your hand to speak or to get out of your seat.
- Respect your classmates, teachers, property, and yourself.
- Be in your seat on time, fully prepared, and ready to work.
- No food/candy/chips, etc in classroom.
- Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
- No electronic devices to be used in classroom.
· Code of Conduct enforced if policies are not followed.
