 Welcome to our Class Page

 A little bit about me:

I am currently teaching a (K-2) Special Class at School 17 and I have been working in Yonkers Public Schools for the last 7 years. I myself attended Yonkers Public Schools. My love of education and my dream of becoming a Teacher began at a young age and I am proud to now be working in the same district that I am a product of.

I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Pace University and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education with a dual certification in Early Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities from The College Of New Rochelle.

Outside of school I love spending time with my family. I am a Mommy to one sweet and active toddler! We love reading books,  learning through play, and being outdoors in the sunshine!

My goal is to provide students with a learning enviroment that is welcoming, structured, fun and most importantly, a place where each student feels comfortable and safe. I look forward to working with each of my students and their families to help each child build a love of learning and reach their full potential.

2020-2021 School Year:

Hello students, parents & families and welcome to the 2020-2021 School year!

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful summer and enjoyed some much needed sunshine & relaxation while keeping safe and healthy. We are certainly living through some unexpected and challenging times. Now more than ever, we need to work as a team because as I like to say "Team work makes the dream work"! This month will be different than we may have hoped but together we will get through it. We will be engaging in fully remote learning until October 5, 2020, and though this may not be the ideal way for our students/children to learn we will make the best of it and do our absolute best. I am excited to welcome back my students from last year and some new students too; Welcome!! We will be using Microsost TEAMS as our instructional platform as well as other educational sites/apps that I will be providing.  Ms. Maria, Ms. Rina, Ms. Ghadeer (our aides) and I are all looking forward to seeing each of you on Wednesday, September 9th. I will be sending out a message on Class Dojo for the exact schedule and times.

Here's to a safe school year full of fun and learning!
