  • About the Class

Hello students and families! Since I am covering for Mrs. Arno in her absence, please make sure to look on this site for all announcements and assignments.

Under “Assignments”, you’ll see the work I’ve assigned. Please click the individual assignment for instructions as well as links to textbook pages (if the assignment requires the textbook). Students must send me pictures or scans of their work as evidence of completion. I will send confirmation that I received your assignments.

For assignment submissions, questions, comments, or concerns, please email me at Thank you!

For families who are more comfortable speaking Spanish, yo hablo español. Si algún padre o guardián necesita comunicarse conmigo, siéntase libre en enviarme una carta electrónica y sería un placer hablar con usted sobre su hijo/hija.

  • Reply delays (Posted 04/03/20)

Hi students and families. I hope you are all safe, and healthy. I wanted to let you all know that, with the increase in communication and assignment submissions from you all, expect some delays in my replies. I take time in reading through each and every submission, in particular the journal entries. These are the most fun to read, as they help me gain some perspective into who my students are. I apologize for this delay. If you do not hear from me, please give it some time. I reply as quickly as I can. I will confirm within the day.

A reminder: my hours are 9 AM - 2 PM Monday through Friday. After 2 PM, I may not respond until the next day. Thank you all for your patience.

    -Ms. Cuevas

  • Past Assignments (Posted 04/03/20)

Students who have not completed the assignments listed in "Past Assignments" are still responsible for completing them. These assignments all contribute to your grade for the Third Quarter report card. You will receive full credit for these assignments once I have received your submissions.

PLEASE email me if you have any concerns or questions about the work. I am here to assist you in any way I can.

  • WEEK 3: Work Plan for 3/30-4/3

I realize many of us are adjusting to using this page as well as other pages, apps, and platforms (depending on your teachers). Electronic learning is as new to you as it is to me! It was not my intent to overwhelm students and their families with the number of assignments while we're adjusting to this new form of "school". Because of this, I am extending the due dates for such assignments. Check individual assignments for their respective due date.

We are all in this together and I am here for you. Feel free to contact me for anything you need.

    Stay safe and stay healthy!

  • WEEK 1: Work Plan for 3/16-3/20

The goal was to complete all of Chapter 2. I will summarize the assignments below:

    • Notes, Vocab, and Assessment for:
      • Section 1: Energy Flow in Ecosystems
      • Section 2: Cycles of Matter
      • Section 3: Biogeography
      • Section 4: Biomes
      • Section 5: Aquatic Ecosystems
    • Chapter 2 Review and Assessment, including Standardized Test Prep
      • Do NOT do the "Writing in Science" nor the "Chapter Project"

When you finish these assignments, email me either pictures or scans of the work at

If you have not emailed me these items, you will not be penalized for submitting them this week. Shutting down of schools is an unexpected event and we are all adjusting accordingly! It is a stressful time and my goal is for you to learn, not for you to feel overwhelmed by a large workload. Please submit everything as soon as possible so that you can start the new work plan.

    Thanks! - Ms. Cuevas
