We are going to compare Classical Civilizations in two parts of the Eastern Hemisphere.  Greece and Rome in what is today Europe and the Qin and Han in what is today China.  Today's

assignment is to look up the meaning of these two words:

2. empire, boundary/border

In social studies we just completed looking at the rise of River Valley Civilizations.  Over the next centuries cultures developed that deserve the title “Classical Civilizations.”  So, today’s assignment is to answer this question:

What do you think classical means?

A: Yes, this week's assignments are to complete the 6th Grade Packet, which was disseminated (given out) on March 18th-19th.  Please make sure that you finish the science and social studies portions by the end of this week, because I'll be assigning more schoolwork on Monday.

Q: The Passport Project: The sheets you put on the packet are those the maps we are supposed to use for the continents?

A: It's under your own discretion (choice) to use the maps that are provided in the packet.  That being said, if you'd like to draw and/or printout other pictures of the continents instead, you're more than welcome to do so.
