Dear Parents and Guardians:
Hope you are enjoying the nice weather!
- On Wednesday, March 9th, we had our Spring Concert for the first time in two years. It was wonderful to see so many parents able to watch our scholars sing so beautifully! Thanks to Ms. Frick our Music Teacher who led our scholars to sing with pride and enthusiasm. And the drum performance by our 6th Grade Scholars was excellent! The concert is on our website so feel free to watch our scholars sing and perform!
- Congratulations to all of our scholars who took ownership of their learning over the Winter Break! Over 150 scholars earned a reading certificate, a bag of takis, and a book because they were engaged in over 300 minutes of “taking ownership of their learning.”
- Our top five scholars received a $15 gift card to Barnes and Noble courtesy of our friends from the Sisters of Charity. They scholars winners are:
- Gilianny (2A) who was engaged in CLEVER for 3,487 minutes!!!! That is 58 hours of “Taking Ownership of her Learning.” That is incredible effort! (Gilianny received $30 gift card for her efforts!!!).
- Abril (5V) 2,120 minutes (over 35 hours)
- Aanisah (4G) 1,860 minutes (over 31 hours)
- Jeremiah (5V) 1,766 minutes (over 29 hours)
- Masen (3B) 1,660 minutes (over 27 hours)
- In addition, Ms. Vega’s 5th Grade class and Ms. Mirabile 1st Grade class earned a pizza party for the total effort of the participants!
- We will have our third and final Taki Challenge for the upcoming spring break from April 9 to 17.
- SPECIAL THANKS TO Ms. BEAVER, who gathered and did the computation (Tier 2 word for adding) all of the reading logs and Clever data.
- We thank all of our Teachers, Scholars, and parents for their support as we continue to preach the gospel of reading!
Stay safe and enjoy the nice weather!
