Yonkers Board of Education Appoints Interim Superintendent of Schools
The Trustees unanimously appointed Dr. Luis Rodriguez Interim Superintendent of Schools effective August 1, 2023 and ending July 31, 2024. The Trustees have a contract with Hazard Young Attea & Associates (HYA) for professional services to expand the scope and community input in the search for a new superintendent of schools.

Trustees Re-elect Rev. Lopez & Dr. Del Vecchio to Lead Board of Education
At the 142nd Annual Meeting of the Yonkers Board of Education on May 11, 2023, the Trustees re-elected Rev. Steve Lopez and Dr. Rosalba Corrado-Del Vecchio to serve as president and vice-president. Both will serve one-year terms in their leadership posts.

Artists With Autism Gala Set for April 17
The 7th annual art exhibition celebrating young artists with autism takes place at Yonkers Riverfront Library on Monday, April 17, 2023, from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM. This year’s theme – “Together We Can Go Further,” showcases artwork created by Yonkers Public Schools students with Autism. This year's gala is the first in-person celebration since the Pandemic began. Don’t miss it!

Retirement of Superintendent of Schools Dr. Edwin M. Quezada
(April 5, 2023) Yonkers Board of Education President Rev. Steve Lopez today announced that Dr. Edwin M. Quezada, Superintendent of Schools, submitted his letter of retirement effective July 3, 2023. In Dr. Quezada’s letter to the Trustees, he expressed sincere gratitude for the opportunities he was afforded over his 25 years with the Yonkers Public Schools, noting it was, “…an exceedingly rewarding, and at times challenging, period of my professional life… It is time for me to take a new path in my life’s journey.”
