Mental Health Awareness: Talking About 13 Reasons Why

13 Reasons Why is a fictional TV-MA rated series on the Netflix streaming network based on the novel of the same name about a teenage girl who dies by suicide. The TV-MA rating means the series contains content unsuitable for children under the age of 17.

There is growing concern among mental health professionals regarding the content.  Yonkers Public Schools administrators, school guidance counselors, psychologists and social workers are aware of the concerns raised by the series and are prepared to assist students and families with resources and counseling.
