Seismic Event of April 5, 2024

Our area experienced a seismic event earlier today, Friday, April 5, 2024. According to reports, Yonkers and the surrounding regions were affected by a 4.8 magnitude earthquake, with reports indicating that the epicenter was located in Lebanon, New Jersey. While earthquakes are relatively uncommon in our region, it is important that we remain vigilant and prepared for any such occurrences.
We are working closely with the City of Yonkers to ensure the safety and well-being of all students, staff, and faculty. Our Facilities Department has confirmed that, based on visual inspections, all our school buildings retain structural integrity, there are no leaks, breaches etc., and all requisite systems are fully online.
As of now, there have been no reports of structural damage or personal injuries within our school premises. Based on these assessments, we are confident that it is safe to resume normal school operations. Therefore, please be informed that school will proceed according to the regular schedule.
