Hey, how’s it going, my name is Kaylee Nunez. I am a student at William Boyce Thompson School. I am currently an 8th grader, making it my last year in this school. I honestly don’t know how to feel about it, since I’ve been in this school for approximately 10 years so. But then again, I can’t wait to go to high school. I’ve learned and experienced so much over those 10 years. But I currently have two big accomplishments I made. One, being on principals list for every marking period, last year in 7th grade. Two, having the pleasure of winning the presidency for the 8th-grade student council. Let me tell you, winning the presidency wasn’t so easy. Over the 10 years in school, I had already built myself a good image to represent me. That played a huge part in my campaign; especially, when it came time for others to vote for me. My running mate, Anaya Robinson also played a major role when running. Anaya is also my best friend, she is devoted and extremely bright, these qualities leave such a big comfortability to know she would be my right hand if we were to win. Whelp, we did win, and now we are the president and vice president of the 8th-grade student council! As president, it feels pretty good if you ask me. I get to organize events with my team. Speaking of team, to specify who is in student council we have: Anaya as vice president, Tedra as treasurer, Jinsy as secretary, and me as president. The council attends meetings with both the principal and vice-principal of the school, Dr.Washington and Mrs.Majors. In these meetings, we discuss upcoming projects and events. These meetings make me feel so responsible and “cool” since I get to incorporate ideas and just take part in something so important. That’s a little sneak peek on what’s it like as president of 8th grade. Till next time!
