We’re thrilled to welcome Brenda Cardoza, the new Yonkers Public Schools Parent Coordinator! Ms Cardoza is a long-time advocate and trusted voice for our families. Her work will center on strengthening parent engagement and supporting our vulnerable student population, particularly those served under the McKinney-Vento Act, which addresses the needs of students experiencing homelessness. Surrounding Ms. Cardoza is Associate Superintendent Lissette Colón-Collins (left), and Superintendent of Schools Aníbal Soler, Jr. (right).

Good morning Yonkers Public Schools! Today, Monday, September 15, 2025, is a "C" Day. But, wait! The week begins with a C and ends with an A? You've got this. 💯 Carpe Diem!

Good evening, Class of 2029 families. This is 9th Grade Assistant Principal, Mr. Shojai, welcoming all students and families back to school.
Today, our 9th-grade students attended their first assembly, where we discussed our cohort theme in detail: One Pack, One Future! Students also learned about school policies and protocols, as well as exciting opportunities to join SMART Scholars or P-Tech, which allow students to begin earning college credits. Each student received an application for these programs, which should be returned by the end of this week.
We are also rolling out our 1:1 Chromebook devices. Each student will receive a Chromebook to use both at school and at home. To receive one, students must return the Use and Loan Agreement signed by a parent. These forms were distributed last week and are due tomorrow.
I strongly encourage every family to join our PTSA. The PTSA funds key events throughout the year and provides scholarships for students. Membership forms were emailed, and the PTSA will also be present at our Coffee with the Principal event with Mr. Morales on September 20th from 9–11 a.m.
Thank you all for a wonderful first week. I look forward to seeing you at our Open House on September 25th.
—Cyrus Shojai, Assistant Principal
