As part of Yonkers Public Schools’ commitment to building stronger community schools, La Placita de Hostos marks one of many food pantries opening across our district. These pantries are designed to meet the needs of our families by providing access to healthy, culturally relevant food and support services right where they’re needed most—at school!
To support our shared commitment to building strong home-to-school connections, we are pleased to share the attached bilingual flyer for the Yonkers Public Schools Adult Education Program, Pathways to Success, available at no cost to Yonkers residents.

We will be taking pre-orders, and we invite everyone to support this special cause.
On Friday, May 1st, Hostos will Light It Up In Blue to show love, support, and awareness for autism. Let’s come together and wear our shirts proudly as we stand united for autism! 🧩💙
All proceeds will go toward end-of-year events for our special education classes.

Please join us on Wednesday, February 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Lincoln High School, 275 Kneeland Avenue, for an informative Science Teachers Association of New York State (STANYS) meeting.
All elementary science teachers, secondary science teachers, administrators, and #YonkersPublicSchools parents are most welcome!
Learn about the Grades 5 & 8 Science Tests, Regents exams, new lab investigations, New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS), and much more.
Parents will also get tips on supporting their students in science and preparing for state tests. New York State Education Department (NYSED) representatives will present, and light snacks will be provided.
