📢 Important Pre-K Update & Reminders 🦅

Attention Pre-K Families! We would like to share some important updates, along with a few reminders for our Pre-K half days and Parent Orientation on September 3 & 4.

🚗 Important Transportation Update: Transportation will NOT be provided for Pre-K students for AM or PM routes on either day. Parents/guardians will be responsible for drop-off and pick-up.

🕣 Pre-K Half Days: Students will attend from 8:30–11:30 a.m. on both September 3 & 4.

👋 Parent Orientation: All Pre-K families should attend orientation from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on either September 3 OR September 4. Families only need to attend one session.

During orientation, families will have the opportunity to meet our teachers and administration, visit the classrooms, and learn more about the Pre-K curriculum and the year ahead.

Welcome back, families! As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, families are asked to review our Parent-Student Back-to-School Quick Reference Guide for important information about the first days of school.

The guide includes key details about supply drop-off, arrival and dismissal procedures, transportation, health requirements, personal devices, and important contact information.

Please review the attached guide carefully and check your email for a copy to save for future reference.

Important dates: Supply Drop-Off is Wednesday, September 2, from 1:00–2:30 p.m. The first day of school is Thursday, September 3.

All elementary science teachers, secondary science teachers, administrators, and #YonkersPublicSchools parents are most welcome!

Learn about the Grades 5 & 8 Science Tests, Regents exams, new lab investigations, New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS), and much more.

Parents will also get tips on supporting their students in science and preparing for state tests. New York State Education Department (NYSED) representatives will present, and light snacks will be provided.

We’re thrilled to welcome Brenda Cardoza, the new Yonkers Public Schools Parent Coordinator! Ms Cardoza is a long-time advocate and trusted voice for our families. Her work will center on strengthening parent engagement and supporting our vulnerable student population, particularly those served under the McKinney-Vento Act, which addresses the needs of students experiencing homelessness.
