On Tuesday, August 25 at 12:00 p.m., School 23 will host tMayor Mike Spano's Backpack to School Drive in our auditorium. All School 23 students in Pre-K through Grade 2 are invited to receive a free backpack filled with school supplies to help them get ready for the new school year. Please remember, this event is exclusively for School 23 students. We look forward to seeing our families on Tuesday and getting our students ready for a great year at School 23. All elementary science teachers, secondary science teachers, administrators, and #YonkersPublicSchools parents are most welcome!

Learn about the Grades 5 & 8 Science Tests, Regents exams, new lab investigations, New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS), and much more.

Parents will also get tips on supporting their students in science and preparing for state tests. New York State Education Department (NYSED) representatives will present, and light snacks will be provided.

We’re thrilled to welcome Brenda Cardoza, the new Yonkers Public Schools Parent Coordinator! Ms Cardoza is a long-time advocate and trusted voice for our families. Her work will center on strengthening parent engagement and supporting our vulnerable student population, particularly those served under the McKinney-Vento Act, which addresses the needs of students experiencing homelessness.
