On March 4, 2025, School 30 was awarded Mayor Mike Spano's School Spotlight. Principal Michael Shapiro accepted the award on behalf of the entire School 30 community. In attendance were members of the Yonkers Community including Deputy Mayor Susan Gerry, City Council President Lakisha Collins-Bellamy, Council member Mike Breen, Council member Tasha Diaz, Council Member Deana Robinson, and Associate Superintendent Rose Anne Collins Judon. School 30's My Brother's Keeper Chapter provided usher services, and Girl Scout Troop 1769 opened up with the flag ceremony. The community was also treated to musical selections by the School 30 Choir led by Mr. Carlton Jay.
School 30 was recognized for their accomplishments over the last years, including a 20% increase in Math past four years, 18% increase in ELA past four years, 23-24 School Year: US News and World Report ranked 3rd in Yonkers Elementary Schools, 56% of ENL students increased proficiency levels, 23-24 Ranked #1 in the Stock Market Game in the Hudson Valley Region, 23-24 school year: 100% passed the Algebra Regents, 23-24% school year: 100% of teachers are PTA members, robust MBK and MSK with over 60 members, and a New Comers Program for Spanish and Arabic speaking families
The success School 30 has enjoyed was directly attributed to the hard work of the entire community, including students, teachers and staff, administration, Central Office support, and support from the Board of Trustees and Yonkers dignitaries. School 30 is committed to constant growth in all areas and looks forward to many more celebrations.
