Upcoming Family Workshops: Positive Parenting & Understanding IEPs

Our school is pleased to share two valuable learning opportunities for families, provided in collaboration with the Lower Hudson Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Center and the Westchester Institute for Human Development.


1. In-Person Parent Workshop: Positive Solutions for Families – Session 2

Date: March 27, 2026

Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Location: Riverfront Library, 1 Larkin Center, Yonkers, NY

This practical workshop supports parents and caregivers with strategies to help children develop social‑emotional skills and manage challenging behaviors. Session 2 focuses on teaching expected behaviors, responding calmly and consistently, and creating a simple, effective plan for everyday challenges.

All families are welcome, and resources will be provided.

2. Virtual Workshop: What Is an Individualized Education Program (IEP)?

Date: March 9, 2026

Time: 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM

Format: Zoom (Registration link and QR code on flyer)

This session offers families a foundational understanding of the IEP process for school‑age students. Participants will learn about the Committee on Special Education (CSE), the roles of each team member, and the different components of an IEP, including transition planning.

These workshops are designed to empower families and strengthen home‑school collaboration.
