YONKERS, NY- June 18, 2026- Students and teachers at four Yonkers Public Schools will soon have brand-new, internet-ready iPads in hand to use for instruction over the next four years.  Verizon has partnered with the nonprofit organization Digital Promise to help close the digital learning gap and increase access to technology.

We are thrilled to share that School 5, Robert C. Dodson School, Yonkers Montessori Academy, and Yonkers Middle High School have been selected for this prestigious opportunity.

Through this highly competitive program, selected schools will receive iPads with cellular connectivity for every student and teacher, ensuring access to learning anytime and anywhere, even at home. Each device comes with 30GB of monthly data.  Equally important, educators will benefit from sustained, high-quality professional development, and access to a national network of innovative schools working together to reimagine instruction and increase student engagement.

Technology can open a whole new world of educational opportunities.  An iPad is a portal through which a curious young mind can explore.  Students and teachers can embark on this learning adventure together and apply newfound knowledge to real-world scenarios.  Being connected via the internet creates a community of collaboration.  Thanks to these new iPads, learning will extend beyond the classroom.

Over the last decade, Verizon Innovative Learning has transformed the educational experience for more than 3 million students by providing schools and districts with the tools they need to thrive in the digital world and bridge the digital divide.
