🎨One brushstroke at a time, students at Las Hermanas Mirabal Community School brought history, art, and community together through the unveiling of the new “Las Mariposas” mural.
Created by Pre-K through 8th grade students, the mural honors the legacy of the Mirabal sisters and their commitment to justice, freedom, and courage.

During the unveiling ceremony, four students brought the sisters’ stories to life through powerful presentations, while vibrant dance performances and a parade made the day a true celebration of legacy.

A special thank you to Principal Dr. Vicuña, Assistant Principal Ms. Abate, and Artist-in-Residence Mr. Alvaro Garcia-Ordonez for leading this meaningful mural.
