The Yonkers Promise is underway! This week, college and university presidents and vice presidents came together to establish guaranteed admission pathways for Yonkers students.
This initiative, led by Yonkers Public Schools and Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE), will expand access to postsecondary opportunities and create clearer pathways for students to pursue higher education. #YonkersMagic

📚✨ The PEARLS Read-A-Thon was a huge success!
PEARLS proudly continued a beloved tradition that began 11 years ago in honor of Ms. Tina Doufekias, a cherished PEARLS teacher whose passion for literacy left a lasting mark on the school community.
This year students logged an incredible 376,805 minutes and read 5,564 books, raising $11,543 for the PEARLS PTA Fund.
These funds will support classroom enrichment and schoolwide experiences for all PEARLS students. Thank you to everyone who made it possible! #YonkersMagic

We hope you enjoyed a safe and restful February break. As we prepare to reopen our schools following the recent blizzard, we want to extend our sincere appreciation for your patience and support.
Our dedicated custodial and grounds teams have been working tirelessly throughout the storm and the break to ensure every school building and walkway is safe, accessible, and ready to welcome students and staff. We are truly grateful for their extraordinary efforts.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back tomorrow. As the community recovers from the storm, there may still be isolated delays with morning bus pick-up, parent drop-off, and afternoon dismissal. We appreciate your continued patience and cooperation as we navigate these conditions together.
Thank you again for your partnership and flexibility. We are excited to have our students and staff return and look forward to a strong start after the break.
Welcome back!

Students explored a variety of Apple instructional applications, experiencing firsthand how technology can transform teaching and learning. Throughout the experience, they were encouraged to share their insights and feedback on the Apple Education resources they were introduced to.
Student voice plays a meaningful role in #YonkersPublicSchools as we continue to empower learners to lead and innovate. Thank you, Apple Inc., for creating this meaningful experience for our students.

🚨 Important Update! 🚨
The Black History Month Celebration has a new date! #YonkersPublicSchools is celebrating at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, March 3rd at Lincoln High School.
We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone. Mark your calendars and join us for an amazing event!

The Board of Education Stated Meeting scheduled for that evening is also canceled.
Central Office will remain open.
Although emergency closing days are included in the district calendar, the District will be submitting a waiver request to the New York State Education Department due to the severity and widespread impact of the recent blizzard. We will share an update as soon as the state issues a determination. Until then, please continue to plan using the emergency closing days identified in our calendar.
We anticipate a full reopening on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to ensure safe travel conditions and confirm that all district facilities are fully prepared to safely welcome students and staff.
