Happy Thanksgiving !

Two Martin Luther King Jr. Academy alumni and now Enrico Fermi staff, Lawrence Young and Danielle Jones—reunited with the teacher who changed their lives: Ms. Mary McBride, a beloved Yonkers Public Schools educator of 35 years.
In Lawrence’s own words:
“Today was a very special day for me, I was able to meet my 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Mary McBride. She holds a very special place in my heart and I speak of her often because of the impact she had on my life even in the second grade. She saw something no one else did and she spent the time it took to help and taught me even at that early age how to overcome an obstacle. Today is a great day.”
A reminder that the #YonkersMagic lives on through the connections we make and the lives we touch.

This week, The Enrico Fermi School proudly opened the doors to La Bodeguita de Fermi —their community food pantry—for the second time this month, just in time for Thanksgiving! Thanks to their incredible partner, Feeding Westchester, the shelves were stocked with fresh, healthy food and essential items for families to enjoy during the holiday.
A huge thank you to the students, staff, administrators, and Ms. Brenda Cardoza, YCPTA President & YPS Parent Coordinator for jumping into action! Your compassion and teamwork made this moment of community, care, and gratitude truly special. Together, we’re making a real difference! 🌟 #YonkersMagic
