Valentine's Day is on one week and we hope you can join us for a special prekindergarten celebration next Friday, February 13th at 8 am in our classrooms.


Please join us on Wednesday, February 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Lincoln High School, 275 Kneeland Avenue, for an informative Science Teachers Association of New York State (STANYS) meeting.
All elementary science teachers, secondary science teachers, administrators, and #YonkersPublicSchools parents are most welcome!
Learn about the Grades 5 & 8 Science Tests, Regents exams, new lab investigations, New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS), and much more.
Parents will also get tips on supporting their students in science and preparing for state tests. New York State Education Department (NYSED) representatives will present, and light snacks will be provided.

The next distribution from the Robert C. Dodson School Pantry will be tomorrow, February 6th from 8 am - 12 pm.
All families that previously completed and submitted the Feeding Westchester Intake Form should plan to come to Dodson to get their food tomorrow between 8 am and 12 pm. You do not need to fill out paperwork again.
If you would like to join the food pantry at Dodson, please request a form from your child's teacher, fill it out and bring it on Friday. New members will be able to take food on tomorrow.

Monday - Friendship Day, dress like a friend for twin day!
Tuesday - Wild About Learning, wear animal print
Wednesday - Sweethearts, wear heart-patterned clothes and accessories or red and pink
Thursday - We Love Dodson, wear your Dodson shirt or school colors (red and black)
Friday - Pajama Day, wear your comfy pajamas


Please make sure your student wears or brings sneakers to school on physical education/gym days. Students must wear sneakers to participate in gym.
In addition, please label your child's clothing with their name, especially jackets, sweatshirts and sweaters. If you are missing items, please ask your child to check the lost and found in the cafeteria.

Tomorrow, Friday, October 31st is the annual Halloween parade at Dodson for prekindergarten through 6th grade students.
The parade will start promptly at 12:15 pm.
If it is raining, the parade will be held indoors.
Prekindergarten through 6th grade students are invited to wear their costumes to school.
Inflatable costumes may only be worn during the parade. No masks may be worn in school. No additional costume accessories (swords, guns, knives, etc.) are permitted.
7th and 8th grade students have a regular school day, students cannot wear costumes to school and are not in the elementary school parade.


Tomorrow, Thursday, October 30th is Everything Halloween Day!
Wear your favorite Halloween shirt and accessories or wear orange and black.
Reminder - The Dodson Halloween Parade will be Friday afternoon at 12:15 pm, rain or shine.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 29th is Pajama Day!
Wear your Halloween pajamas or any other PJs!
