Dear Ella Fitzgerald Academy Families,
As partners in your child's education and well-being, we want to take a moment to address an
important safety concern.
Recently, our district experienced a tragic loss involving a student. While the incident did not occur
at our school, it serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of helping young people make
safe choices both in person and online.
Today, we spoke with students about the importance of making responsible decisions, looking out
for one another, and seeking help from trusted adults when they have concerns. We reminded
students that social media trends and online challenges can sometimes encourage risky behaviors
that may have serious consequences. We encouraged them to think critically, make safe choices,
and understand that they never have to participate in activities that make them uncomfortable or put
them at risk.
We ask for your partnership by taking a few moments to speak with your child about:
• Making safe choices and avoiding risky online trends or challenges.
• The importance of saying 'no' when something feels unsafe.
• Looking out for friends and seeking help from a trusted adult if they see someone engaging in
dangerous behavior.
• Using social media responsibly and understanding that not everything presented online is safe or
appropriate.
At Ella Fitzgerald Academy, the safety and well-being of our students remain our highest priority.
We have reminded students that they can always reach out to teachers, counselors, administrators,
nurses, or other trusted adults if they have concerns for themselves or others.

PTA Bake Sale – March 18 & 19
The Ella Fitzgerald Academy PTA will be hosting a Bake Sale on March 18 and 19 during all lunch periods. Students will be able to purchase sweet treats such as cupcakes, donuts, cookies, and more, with items priced between $1.00 and $2.00.
The PTA is also welcoming donations of baked goods and drinks as well as parent volunteers to help make the event a success. All proceeds will support future PTA events and activities for our school community.

Good evening parents and guardians. This is Dr. Wyatt calling to inform you that the Good Touches/Bad Touches curriculum will be presented to the children in Kindergarten. The educational objectives are to have the children understand the importance of safety which includes the concept of the differences between good and bad touch. A letter has been sent home to describe the program in its entirety. Please fill out the permission slip and return this to your child's teacher. Thank you.
