Our Pre-K students had a beautiful Mother’s Day Tea Party! Families spent the morning reading together, planting flowers, and celebrating the special women in their lives. Students also created and painted heartfelt cards for their moms.
Thank you to all of our families who joined us for this sweet and memorable morning! 🌸💐

You are the ❤️ of our schools.
You inspire. You uplift. You create magic every single day. 🪄
Thank you for shaping the future of Yonkers.
— Superintendent Anibal Soler, Jr.

Our students came together for a meaningful Autism Acceptance Walk around the school block. Students created thoughtful signs to promote awareness, acceptance, and inclusion, and walked together to music as a school community.
We are proud of our students for using their voices and creativity to celebrate what makes each person unique. 💙

Our principals are more than administrators. They are visionaries, problem-solvers, and champions for our students, staff, and families.

During the visit, our students also honored the memory of Joseph Hasson, brother of our own Mr. Hasson, who lost his life on 9/11 while serving as a firefighter. We are grateful for the opportunity to remember his bravery and the bravery of so many first responders that day.

JOIN OUR TEAM!
Join Yonkers Public Schools for this year’s Relay for Life as we raise vital funds for cancer research and support services, Friday, May 29, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.at Gorton High School, 100 Shonnard Place, Yonkers
Building on last year’s success, we are coming together to support two very special members of our school family: Brenda Cardoza, whose dedication and compassion have touched so many lives, and Belen Ruiz Benito, a brave second-grade student at Enrico Fermi School whose strength and courage have inspired our entire community.
Walk with us and stand united in hope.

Inspired by architect Antoni Gaudí’s colorful mosaics in Park Güell in Barcelona, Spain, this collaborative artwork came together piece by piece with contributions from all classes. Each student’s work helped create one vibrant, unified display that celebrates creativity, teamwork, and artistic expression.
Great job to all of our student artists and our wonderful art teachers for helping put it together.

Students researched historical figures, wrote about their accomplishments, and then stepped into character by dressing as the individuals they studied.
We are so proud of their hard work, creativity, and confidence as they shared their learning in such a meaningful and engaging way. Great job, 4th grade! 🌟📚🎭

The celebration featured a dance performance that brought the auditorium to life and showcased the pride and spirit of Dominican culture.

🥁 Bash the Trash Visits PEARLS! ♻️
Today our students had an amazing time during a special assembly with Bash the Trash, where music, creativity, and environmental awareness came together in a fun and engaging performance. Students saw how everyday and recycled materials can be transformed into musical instruments and learned about the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling.
Thank you to the Bash the Trash team for an interactive and inspiring presentation that had our students clapping, laughing, and thinking about sustainability in a whole new way!
Thank you to our PTA for supporting such an amazing assembly.
