On March 4, 2026, School 5 celebrated 100 days of school in a variety of ways. Staff and students used their imaginations to dress like they were 100 years old. Students created projects to represent the number 100! The staff celebrated 80 days until summer to bring in warm weather vibes! We ALL celebrated 100 acts of kindness because many small acts make one big change! High Five for School 5!

My Brother's Keeper Kick Off Event

School 5 hosted our My Brother's Keeper Kick Off on January 20, 2026 in the Library.

Students and families were engaged and motivated by empowering speeches from Superintendent Aníbal Soler, Jr., Dr. Frank Hernandez, Dr. Marvin Robinson III, Mr. Kenny Grant, Mr. Greg Joyner, Dr. Baez, and Ms. White. They were also inspired by MBK Ambassador Cameron Williams and MBK Yonkers Alumni member Jason Martinez. Our School 5 MBK staff leaders, Coach Hogue, Mr. Montgomery and Mr. Johnson are looking forward to building connection and progress throughout the year.

Our dedicated middle school young men created self portraits with our art teacher, Ms. Petrino, to be displayed during this impactful event.

We are looking forward to an exciting year filled with growth and opportunities for the young men of School 5.
