Students shared what keeps them motivated to stay substance-free and joined a fun scavenger hunt!
It’s that time of year again! The Saunders PTSA is collecting candy for the Matthew Wallace Foundation Trunk or Treat event. Help us fill our trunks and make this community event extra sweet! Please send closed bags of candy to the main office by October 24th. Every bag makes a huge difference in helping us to support this wonderful community tradition!

The Saunders Physical Education Department will be offering 1st Quarter Make-up sessions for students on the following dates:
October 21, 23, 28, 30
November 3, 5, 6, and 7
Please note the following:
• Students may complete a maximum of three (3) make-ups per quarter — one per morning.
• Students must arrive by 7:15 a.m. and report to the gymnasium prepared for physical activity.
• Each make-up session requires students to complete 20 laps.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to maintaining good standing in Physical Education.

SHS Skate Night
You are invited to a fun night out with the Saunders HS Class of 2026!

🕖 Time: 7:15 PM – 8:15 PM (Doors open at 6:45 PM)
📍 Location: Murray’s Skating Rink 348 Tuckahoe Road, Yonkers, NY
🎟️ Tickets: $20 (includes skate rentals)
Tickets will be sold during lunch periods on 10/21 and at the door on the night of the event.

WINTER SPORTS
Winter Sports sign-ups will open on Final Forms beginning October 19 and will close on November 11, 2025.
Winter Sports include:
- Saunders JV & Varsity Basketball (Boys & Girls)
- Saunders Varsity Cheerleading
- Yonkers Boys Swimming
- Yonkers Wrestling
- Yonkers Bowling
- Yonkers Indoor Track
Sports Physicals:
- Available on October 14 and October 30 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Students must see the school nurse for a pre-screening and to schedule an appointment.
- An up-to-date physical is required to register for a sport
The Winter Sports season officially begins on November 17.

Your “school day” will begin at 6:15pm, don’t be late to 1st period! We will follow at “A” day schedule. If you wish to meet a teacher only seen on a “D” day, you may be able to see them during your “lunch” or magnet block. Please call to schedule an appointment if you miss them.

Our clubs will have tables setup in the hallways and auditorium to sell food and Saunders Spirit Wear. This year we’ll have T-Shirts ($15), Hoodies ($30), and pajama pants ($40). Please bring cash as clubs will not be able to take credit cards!
