Tickets will be sold during lunch periods on 10/21 and at the door on the night of the event.

WINTER SPORTS
Winter Sports sign-ups will open on Final Forms beginning October 19 and will close on November 11, 2025.
Winter Sports include:
- Saunders JV & Varsity Basketball (Boys & Girls)
- Saunders Varsity Cheerleading
- Yonkers Boys Swimming
- Yonkers Wrestling
- Yonkers Bowling
- Yonkers Indoor Track
Sports Physicals:
- Available on October 14 and October 30 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Students must see the school nurse for a pre-screening and to schedule an appointment.
- An up-to-date physical is required to register for a sport
The Winter Sports season officially begins on November 17.

Your “school day” will begin at 6:15pm, don’t be late to 1st period! We will follow at “A” day schedule. If you wish to meet a teacher only seen on a “D” day, you may be able to see them during your “lunch” or magnet block. Please call to schedule an appointment if you miss them.

Our clubs will have tables setup in the hallways and auditorium to sell food and Saunders Spirit Wear. This year we’ll have T-Shirts ($15), Hoodies ($30), and pajama pants ($40). Please bring cash as clubs will not be able to take credit cards!
We’re thrilled to welcome Brenda Cardoza, the new Yonkers Public Schools Parent Coordinator! Ms Cardoza is a long-time advocate and trusted voice for our families. Her work will center on strengthening parent engagement and supporting our vulnerable student population, particularly those served under the McKinney-Vento Act, which addresses the needs of students experiencing homelessness. Opening Day Details – Wednesday, September 3, 2025
- Classes begin promptly at 7:45 AM.
- All 9th grade students will report to the Auditorium.
- Students in Grades 10–12 will report directly to their assigned magnet rooms (see schedule, it was emailed and is also on the website MENU --> DOCUMENTS).
After the opening activities, we will resume our normal schedule starting second period.
We wish you a happy and restful weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday as we kick off a great year ahead.

Fall Sports Tryouts begin this Saturday August 23 with Yonkers Brave Football.
All other Fall Sports tryouts begin on Monday August 25.
As a reminder, only students who have been cleared through Final Forms are eligible to participate.

Welcome students and families of the Saunders Class of 2029! We'd like to invite you to join us next week on Wednesday (8/27) at 10am here at Saunders. You'll get a chance to meet your Grade's Assistant Principal, Mr. Angelo Petrino, and counselor, Ms. Annie Talone. Students will have a chance to tour the building with current Seniors. Parents will have a group Q&A with the Principal.
Start the countdown! School begins Wednesday, September 3, 2025 for all students PreKindergarten - Grade 12.
Extended School Year Program
Power has been restored at Yonkers Montessori Academy. The Extended School Year (ESY) program will run as normally scheduled tomorrow, Wednesday, July 16th.
