Students are at the heart of everything our #YonkersPublicSchools nurses do. They help keep students and staff healthy, safe, and supported every day. Meet more of the incredible nurses who make a difference in our schools and read their stories in their own words. 💙

Congratulations to Riyanna De Guzman, an 11th grade student, and Abdulrahman Sadiq-Onilenla, a 10th grade student from Saunders Trades and Technical High School, who were officially inducted as non-voting ex-officio student trustees of the Yonkers Board of Education.
As student trustees, they will share their perspectives and ideas based on their lived experiences, representing the voices of their school and more than 24,000 students across Yonkers Public Schools.
This milestone reflects #YonkersPublicSchools commitment to empowering student leadership and creating meaningful opportunities for students to help shape the future of their district.
Join us in congratulating Riyanna and Abdulrahman on this incredible achievement! #YonkersMagic

Through the Yonkers Promise, Yonkers Public Schools graduates don’t have to apply. Lehman College, Manhattanville University, Mercy University, Purchase College, SUNY Westchester Community College, and the University of Mount Saint Vincent will reach out directly to students with next steps in the admissions process.
Through this initiative, Yonkers students will have greater access to higher education and the support needed to transition successfully from high school to college.
When a community comes together to invest in its students, incredible things happen. Thank you to our partners for helping fulfill the Yonkers Promise for every Yonkers student.
💙 Your Future. Our Promise.

🔵All Yonkers Public Schools and Central Office will be closed on Memorial Day

Through hands-on experiences in elementary classrooms, middle and upper elementary school students, support small group instruction, while high school students develop skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and other key areas of teaching. The program also helps students build important soft skills such as teamwork, communication, professionalism, and time management, all while making a meaningful impact on younger learners.
Created in 2020 by Yonkers Federation of Teachers President Samantha Rosado-Ciriello, the TALAT/GYO Program continues to grow, helping inspire the next generation of educators and strengthen the future teacher pipeline right here in Yonkers. #YonkersPublicSchools🌟

Throughout the year, students engaged in activities focused on leadership, confidence, communication, and personal growth. At the celebration, they received certificates and letters of recommendation and reflected on their goals, dreams, and progress since the start of the school year.
We are proud of these inspiring students and grateful to their families and staff for celebrating alongside them. 🌟 The event was attended by Superintendent Soler, Effie Phillips from Mayor Mike Spano’s Office, Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins, Jacob Weitzman from the Office of New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, MBK Executive Director Dr. Marvin Robinson III, and Associate Superintendents Lissette Colon-Collins, Dr. Eileen E. Rivera, and Dr. Stephanie McCaskill.
Thank you to Principal Schrade, MSK Liaison Maritza Fasack, and MBK Liaison Zachary Tazi for organizing this meaningful event. This is #YonkersMagic!
