Welcome Back, Yonkers Public Schools Families,
We hope you enjoyed a safe and restful February break. As we prepare to reopen our schools following the recent blizzard, we want to extend our sincere appreciation for your patience and support.
Our dedicated custodial and grounds teams have been working tirelessly throughout the storm and the break to ensure every school building and walkway is safe, accessible, and ready to welcome students and staff. We are truly grateful for their extraordinary efforts.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back tomorrow. As the community recovers from the storm, there may still be isolated delays with morning bus pick-up, parent drop-off, and afternoon dismissal. We appreciate your continued patience and cooperation as we navigate these conditions together.
Thank you again for your partnership and flexibility. We are excited to have our students and staff return and look forward to a strong start after the break.

🍎 This month, high school students in the Unified Yonkers Student Leadership Council participated in an innovative, Apple-led learning experience titled “A Day in the Life in an Apple Classroom.”
Students explored a variety of Apple instructional applications, experiencing firsthand how technology can transform teaching and learning. Throughout the experience, they were encouraged to share their insights and feedback on the Apple Education resources they were introduced to.
Student voice plays a meaningful role in #YonkersPublicSchools as we continue to empower learners to lead and innovate. Thank you, Apple Inc., for creating this meaningful experience for our students.

Families, students, and colleagues: Mayor Mike Spano has declared a State of Emergency in the City of Yonkers as of midnight. We will keep you posted.

The four My Brother's Keeper Fellows representing Yonkers - Joel Gonzalez (Gorton High School), Quilan Wilson (Lincoln High School), Max Hernandez (Yonkers Middle High School), and Marcus Knight, Jr. (Barack Obama School for Social Justice) - had a powerful, impactful, and truly transformative experience in Albany last week, taking the stage at the Annual Stand and Deliver: My Brother's Keeper Fellows Leadership Workshop and Speaker Showcase and courageously sharing inspiring stories of how MBK has shaped their lives and futures.
From turning fear into motivation to shifting their mindsets toward endless possibilities, the MBK Yonkers Fellows spoke eloquently about discovering acceptance and purpose through their MBK brotherhood.
Their voices, alongside MBK Chapters across New York State, resonated deeply, inspiring and highlighting the movement's lasting impact on confidence and public speaking.
We are incredibly proud of their growth and leadership. The future is bright, and this is only the beginning. #MBKALLDAY #MBKYonkers #MBKModelCommunity
