Board of Education Appoints Mr. Jamell Scott Principal of Barack Obama School for Social Justice

Upon the recommendation of Superintendent of Schools Aníbal Soler, Jr., the Yonkers Board of Education appointed Mr. Jamell Scott as the new principal of Barack Obama School for Social Justice at its August Stated Meeting.

First Time Riders Bus Safety Program

Yonkers Public Schools invites prekindergarten and new-to-the-District students, along with their parents/guardians, to the student's assigned elementary school for the annual Bus Safety and School Orientation Program, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2024.

The Yonkers Board of Education will hold its monthly meetings on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, starting at 4:30 p.m. in the 4th Floor Board Room at One Larkin Center. Following the traditional summer schedule, the Trustees will hold Committee meetings and the Stated meeting.

Board of Education President Dr. Rosalba Corrado Del Vecchio Named Vice Chair of the Conference of Big 5 School Districts

The Conference of Big 5 School Districts announced that Yonkers Board of Education President Dr. Rosalba Corrado DelVecchio was appointed Vice-Chair of the advocacy organization. Ms. Tamica Barnett, President of the Syracuse Board of Education, will serve as Chair.

Back-to-School Immunization Clinics Set

In collaboration with the Westchester County Department of Health, Yonkers Public Schools is hosting FREE IMMUNIZATION EVENTS for students who need required vaccinations to attend school in September.
