Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Nasi

Welcome to Mr. Nasi's 6th Grade ELA & Social Studies

My name is Mr. Nasi. I teach 6th grade ELA (English Language Arts) and Social Studies. I have been teaching for 18 years (WOW!! That's a long time!!). During those 18 years, I have mostly taught 6th grade and I LOVE IT!! I have been in School 23 for 8 years now and...

I think that School 23 is a great place to be,

to earn a degree,

to drink your milk and get some vitamin D,

to study your family tree,

learn about the carpenter bee,

to figure out where is the Caspian Sea,

how to spell potpourri,

to be somebody,

and not nobody,

to learn how to be a good reader like me,

to always be present and not an absentee,

and have a great year,

WHOOPEE!!!

I just made that poem up right now! Cool, huh?

I am looking forward to working with all of my students. Together we will make great strides in learning, reading, and knowledge.

Now, this year is going to be immensely different than anything you or I have ever experienced. It is going to be difficult learning how to instruct my students online, as well as for you to learn how to be instructed online.

This is the first year that Yonkers is using Microsoft Teams as a platform for learning. I have NEVER used it before, and I am sure most of you have NEVER used it before. I have had little training.

This is going to be a HUGE adjustment. There will be adjustments EVERY DAY as we learn how to use this technology more effectively.

But we will work together, we will persevere, we will overcome, and we will be successful because we NEVER QUIT! We will adapt, we will grow, and we will be VICTORIOUS!!

These are the programs and platforms that we will be utilizing for Remote Instruction:

Right now the best way to contact me is at my work email which is knasi@yonkerspublicschools.org. I require 24 hours to return emails. Please understand that there will be a lot of confusion the first few weeks of school and I will do my best to return all emails as quickly as possible.

I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday, September 8th.
