  • We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Charles E. Gorton High School. Andrew Carnegie said “Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision, the ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.”

As we reposition our ship and set sail for a 182-day cruise into the 2017-2018 school year, we will continue to make Gorton High School a place where every stake holder is working together to fulfill our mission “To Prepare Our Learning Community for the Future.”

You will be provided with two emergency cards and the Free and Reduced Lunch form, which also can be found on the district website at www.yonkerspublicschools.org. School lunch will cost $3.00 and $1.50 for breakfast. Both cards, along with the completed lunch form, must be filled out and brought to the main office by Wednesday, September 13th.

It is expected that students come prepared with a loose leaf notebook, 8 ½ x 11, with sections for each subject, pens and pencils for a full day of instruction (7:45 am - 2:29 pm).

It remains our goal to work collaboratively within our learning community to foster an environment that promotes high expectations and cultivates college readiness. And to our future leaders we say as you explore your endless possibilities, take advantage of the learning opportunities that will prepare you for the future.

    Respectfully,

    Ms. Gail Joyner-White, Principal

Mr. James, Mr. Ramirez, Mr. Shaggura and Ms. Williams, Assistant Principals
