Welcome! My name is Gina Ametrano.  I started teaching in the Yonkers Public School system in 1995.  I began my career at School 16 teaching second and third grade multiage. Three years later I became the ESL teacher for students in Pre-K-6th grade.  After spending time at home with my own kids, I returned to work as an ESL teacher at Roosevelt High School. There, I taught the beginner and intermediate levels of language. I am currently teaching my 10th year at Gorton High School where I maintain the role of Dept. Liason for the ENL department and teach the Emerging and Expanding Levels of language learning. I am also working with Seal of Biliteracy candidates during their senior year.  I have always enjoyed learning about the diverse backgrounds of my students and helping them to achieve their goals.  Let's have a great year!
