Mrs. Walther

Dear Parents/ Guardians:

I would like to welcome you and your child to the Resource Room! My name is Mrs. Walther. Click this link to view the All About Mrs. Walther presentation. I am a bilingual (Spanish) resource teacher for grades K-12 at School 22, Enrico Fermi School, and Yonkers Middle High School. Students currently on my roster at School 22 only speak English. I provide services to bilingual Spanish students at Enrico Fermi School and Yonkers Middle High School. Per your child’s IEP mandates, I provide services 5 days a week. I see grades K-6 for 36 minutes a day/180 minutes a week and I see students in grades 7-12 for 42 minutes a day/210 minutes a week.

Most of the students already know me and had me as their resource teacher in the 2022-23 academic year. I support students in a variety of ways so that they can better access the academic content in their classroom. This may include teaching them how to apply strategies, improving and providing support in literacy and computation skills, and collaborating with their teacher on best supporting the students in the classroom. In addition to reviewing their IEP goals, I assess each student in order to identify areas that can be developed academically.

As the student’s parent, you are an integral part of their growth and success academically. Conferences can be scheduled before or after school at mutually convenient times. Feel free to email me at swalther@yonkerspublicschools.org. Furthermore, it is important that your child is in school every day. Your child should start his/her day with a healthy breakfast and arrive to school on time. School begins promptly at 8:35 a.m.

Thank you for your cooperation and support. I am looking forward to working with you. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at school.

TEACHERS + PARENT + CHILD = SUCCESS!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Walther, NBCT
