About the Instructor: I am so excited to be a member of the founding cohort of teachers here at the Robert Halmi Sr. Academy for Film & Television. For the past 8 years, I have taught Earth Science at the Barack Obama School for Social Justice, (formerly known as Palisade Prep). I am excited to share that I will return there after school this year to continue to serve as Drama Club Director. We won a grant through Concord Theatrics and are excited to be one of 10 schools nationwide to receive the licensing rights to perform A Chorus Line in May 2025.
This marks my 14th year teaching and my opportunities to teach have taken me all over, having taught in Yonkers, Florida and NYC. I’ve taught Earth Science in English and Spanish as well as middle school integrated science. When not in the classroom, I enjoy working with my after-school club students, playing with my 10-year-old nephew Jason, spending time with my close family and friends, performing in local community theater productions and traveling.
About Earth & Space Science: According to Biozone, our new ONLINE textbook platform, Earth & Space Science infuses the disciplinary core ideas, cross-cutting concepts and scientific processes within the Next Generation Science Standards and divides them into three major components; Earth's Place in the Universe, Earth's Systems, & Earth & Human Activity. Through project-based learning and 1200 minutes of hands-on lab investigations, students will work collaboratively to prepare for the NEW Earth and Space Science regents exam (scheduled for Tuesday, June 10, 2025).
