Welcome back students and parents! I am the Title I Reading Teacher here at Kahlil Gibran.

Helping my students become lifelong readers, writers and learners is my goal. Throughout the year, my students will be reading various high-interest-leveled books to improve reading fluency, build vocabulary and comprehension. Students will read a wide variety of genres throughout the school year. Reading across multiple genres at a range of text complexity levels helps students develop the skills needed to determine and analyze the main characteristics of various genres.

In addition, students will engage in writing tasks connected to texts they have read.  I model lessons and  conference with my students on a daily basis. Lessons also include good traits of writing as well as the writing process. 

Working together we can create lifelong learners... let's have a great learning year!!!
