Hey Team5, I am proud to be an American, and you should be too! Though we are going through tough times as a country, we have pulled together at various times over the past 200 years to accomplish great things as a nation! Soldiers past and present have played a crucial role in keeping our country safe, so we can all enjoy the benefits of liberty and justice for all.
As we approach Memorial Day this coming Monday, I am asking you to take time each day to consider important details about the USA. Please click on the series of links below to learn more about the symbols that represent our country, and to learn more about what they stand for. The last link will ultimately ask you think about what Memorial Day means. Please take a moment to think about what you might say to a soldier, if given the opportunity. Before responding, please consider what soldiers sacrifice in their own lives, and what you personally gain because of their sacrifices. Use the videos, along with class discussions, to inform your answer and to provide interesting supporting details. All responses should be posted on our Google Classroom Stream by Monday, May 25th.

Good Morning my Team5 Family!
Congratulations to all of you who have joined our Google Classroom. Please have your parents check their e-mail for directions on how to join, if you have not already done so.
In addition to Clever, new assignments will now be posted on our Google Classroom page. Be sure to check regularly for new work.
When working on Clever, be sure to spread your time evenly across the following apps:
I-Ready (Reading and Math)
CommonLit
Sumdog
Readworks
Typing
When on I-Ready, be sure to watch the wonderful videos that are super helpful in teaching new skills and concepts.
Keep in mind that I am able to see work completed on Clever. Let's try our best, so we can all enjoy the feeling of pride in a job well done.
Remember, though we are all at home, we are really still in class. Sixth grade is just around the corner, and we all want to be ready for that exciting adventure.
Be sure to take your time and think about questions and responses. Remain aware of the rules for quality writing for all written responses, so that your smart work is easily understood by the reader-- me!
Looking forward to reading all of your brilliant ideas, and really looking forward to seeing you all again soon!
