Morning Routine - Rutina de la mañana

Literacy Block - Bloque de Alfabetización

1. Review ABC’s
•We are reviewing the ABC’s. Use the flashcards you have at home or the ones you made last week to go over the alphabet. Remember, each flashcard should have the letter in uppercase and lowercase as well as an accompanying picture. It is important for them to have a physical set of cards with the letters so they can review it in front of them and hold it themselves. See an example of the letter A flashcard below.
The goal this week is to continue going over the letters they don’t know. For example, if they struggle with the letters P, S, U, V, Z those will be letters they focus this week for review. If they recognize every letter, then this week you will focus on the sounds for all the letters during review time. Remember we will be doing this all week so you can pace the review.
•Esta semana vamos a repasar el abecedario. Usen las tarjetas que tienen en casa o la que crearon la semana pasada para repasar el abecedario. Recuerdes, cada tarjeta debe tener la letra en mayuscula y minuscula acompañado con un dibujo. Pero, es importante que tengan las tarjetas hecha para que ellos la vean y la toquen ellos mismos. Miren un ejemplo de una tarjeta con la letra A.
La meta esta semana va a ser repasar cada letra que el estudiante no se sabe. Por ejemplo, si ellos no se saben las letras P, S, U, V, Z esa van ser las letras que se van a enfocar esta semana. Si ellos reconocen todas las letras, esta semana van a enfocarse en los sonidos de las letras. Recuerdan que vamos hacer esto durante toda la semana no la hagan todas en un día.
2. Review the letter T
• This week we are reviewing the letter Uu. See the photo below to begin to go over the letter U. Emphasize the sound. Have the student say each word emphasizing the U Sound.

La siguiente actividad se encontrará en la sección “Carpetas” en ClassDojo también. El estudiante tendrá que someter su tarea ahí.Description of Activity: The activity for today is “The Letter U Design”. The student has to create something that starts with the letter “Uu”. The goal is for them to identify that what they’re creating starts with a “U” and then they can be creative with how it looks. For materials, you can use any paper and cut out different shapes to make your object, similar to what was used to make the umbrella below. But if you don’t have those things, you can be creative and use other supplies.
What to submit: Submit a photo of their “U” design in Portfolio under “The Letter U Design”
Descripción de Actividad: La actividad para hoy es “Diseño de la letra U”. El estudiante tiene que crear algo que comienza con la letra “U”. La meta es que el estudiante pueda identificar que lo que van a crear comienza con la letra “U” y después pueden ser creativo de cómo se va a ver su diseño. Para materiales, se puede usar cualquier papel y cortar diferentes formas geométricas para crear su diseño, similar de lo que se usó para crear la sombrilla (umbrella) del ejemplo, si no tienen esos materiales, pueden ser creativo con los materiales que tienen.
Que Enviar: Tome una foto de su diseño y somete la foto en la Carpeta debajo de “The Letter U Design”.

Comiendo SaludableIntroduce the Theme of The Week
● Our theme this week is “eating healthy”. Use the photos above to start the discussion on how eating healthy is a way we take care of ourselves. To have a healthy heart and to have the energy we have to eat healthy foods and take care of ourselves.● Looking at the food pyramid above: guide the students in learning about each category. Ask them to name what are foods that pertain to each category (give examples of fruits, vegetables, grains, etc.)
● Watch the video for more on the food pyramid
● Eating Healthy Vocabulary: fruit, grains, health, nutritious, protein, vegetables, energy, heart, nutrition
● Use the following chart below as a guide for this week’s theme. We will be referring back to the chart all week with a quick overview/revision of taking care of myself. Guide them using the vocabulary and ask questions. Examples are in the chart.

● Nuestro tema de la semana es “comiendo saludable”. Use la fotos para comenzar la discusión de cómo comiendo saludable es una manera de cuidarnos. Para mantener un corazón saludable y tener energía, tenemos que comer saludable y cuidarnos.

La siguiente actividad se encontrará en la sección “Carpetas” en ClassDojo también. El estudiante tendrá que someter su tarea ahí.Description of Activity: Watch the video: “Seal’s Silly Sandwich” and discuss with the student the different kinds of silly foods the seal put in his sandwich.
The activity for today is to make your own silly sandwich. Have the student follow two-step instructions such as picking out what they want to be in their silly sandwich and putting it together. To reinforce learning about food characteristics, you can discuss with the student the different foods going into the sandwich and some characteristics of the food. If you’d prefer, you can make a silly sandwich with crafts. Cut up materials and use arts and crafts supplies to make a pretend silly sandwich.
What to Submit: Submit a video of the student after they make their silly sandwich talking about what foods are in the sandwich and some characteristics of the food. Submit in Portfolio under “Eating Healthy: Silly Sandwich”
Descripción de Actividad: Miren el video: “Seal’s Silly Sandwich” y tenga una discusión con el estudiante de las diferentes comidas tontas que la foca puso en su sandwich.
Para la actividad de hoy, el estudiante va crear su propio sandwich tonto. Haga que el estudiante siga instrucciones de dos pasos: seleccionar la comida para el sandwich tonto y haciendo el sandwich. Para reforzar el aprendizaje de las carteristicas de diferentes comidas, pueden hablar con el estudiante de las comidas que eligieron para su sandwich tonto y las caracteristicas de esas comidas. Si prefieren, pueden hacer un sandwich tonto, con manualidades en vez de comida,corten materiales y usen diferentes manualidades para crear un sándwich tonto de juego.

La siguiente actividad se encontrará en la sección “Carpetas” también en ClassDojo. El estudiante tendrá que someter su tarea ahí.Description of Activity: For today’s activity, review the fruit bar graph. If they’re still unsure, go over each fruit and the number of people who like each fruit. After the review, have them pick one fruit from the graph. On a piece of paper they will draw the fruit they picked and write the number of people who like it in both numerical form and symbol form, using the information from the graph (See example of grapes below, but they can pick any of the fruit options and do the same).
What to Submit: Submit a photo of the fruit drawing and number. Submit in Portfolio under “Bar Graph: Fruit and Number”.
Descripción de Actividad: Para la actividad de hoy, van a repasar la gráfica de frutas. Si todavía no están seguro, repasan cada fruta con el número de personas que le gustó esa fruta. Después del repaso, haga que el estudiante elija una fruta de la gráfica. En un papel van a dibujar la fruta que eligieron y escribir el número que le corresponde en forma numérica y en símbolos, usando la información de la gráfica. (Miren abajo para el ejemplo de uvas, pero pueden elegir cualquiera fruta y hacer lo mismo).
